My name is Benjamin Fleser. I am a 20 year old trans man and I have been struggling with chest dysphoria since I began high school 6 years ago. When I was 16 I started binding my chest to alleviate some of the dysphoria and depression that came from it, but now I have severe back problems and have been told by my doctors I am not allowed to bind. Wearing my binder for even a few minutes causes severe pain. My depression has reached a new high and I am doing everything I can to be able to afford top surgery as soon as possible. I am a full time psychology student at the University of Tennessee, and I work part time near campus. Everything I earn that doesn’t go to bills or school goes back into savings for surgery. Having this surgery will greatly improve my quality of life and will help me move forward with my transition.
