My name is Carrie Hamilton and I am a Knoxville native. I grew up in West Knoxville and attended Farragut schools. I recently moved back to Knoxville from Ohio where I had my first Breast Cancer treatment in 2015. Unfortunately I have been diagnosed again with Breast Cancer in 2017. I am a single mother of two amazing boys. One is 12 and one is 24. I have participated at Breast strokes locally in Knoxville for two years now, and have worked with Cancer survivors in Ohio helping to fit prosthetics and wigs. Most of my career has been in dentistry, however (20 years). I have also worked as a volunteer advocate/contract advocate in Ohio for Sexual Assault survivors for 5 years.
Currently I am unable to work due to second diagnosis and the surgery/chemo/radiation involved. I do not want to lose my home in Knoxville, so I am requesting help through Rescuing Health. It has been a huge blow to have the cancer return so soon, it seems I didn’t even have a chance to catch my breath. I am hoping to be able to stay here in Knoxville and continue be a part of this amazing community. I am requesting 4 months of financial assistance for rent, utilities and car payment.
Thank you for any and all help! I am appreciative beyond words.
